Incorporated in 1989, Groupe communautaire L’Itinéraire is a Montréal non-profit organization that develops social economics projects to improve living conditions of homeless people struggling with different conditions, including alcoholism and drug addiction. Its mission is to enhance the autonomy and foster the development of the skills and creativity of people experiencing difficulties related to marginality and homelessness. Among other services, the organization has launched a newspaper, L’Itinéraire, and the concept of Meals “à la carte”.
Services
- Meals “à la carte”: In response to requests from donors who do not wish to give money directly to people on the street, L’Itinéraire sells meal cards that can be given away by the purchaser and redeemed at Café de la rue.
- Café de rue : Provides low-cost meals. Community workers are on hand to listen and direct people to available resources.
- Youth reinsertion through arts and media projects.
- Adult reinsertion through the sale of the newspaper L’Itinéraire.
