L’ŒUVRE LÉGER is active in 6 countries on the African continent:
- Burkina Faso
- Cameroon
- Ethiopia
- Malawi
- Mali
- Niger
The 2007-2011 programming gives priority to Africa, where L’ŒUVRE LÉGER will invest 40% of its financial commitments. This proportion is mandated by the fact that poverty is so much more severe in Africa than on other continents. It also reflects the fact that most Africans live in extreme poverty in rural areas, and that women and young people are the first to be affected by the flagrant lack of social and economic development.
To remedy this situation, L’ŒUVRE LÉGER has boosted its financial support to the African continent, which is in line with the desire of the international community to see more efforts targeting Africa.
