L’ŒUVRE LÉGER is present in Haiti (in the Caribbean’s) and in seven Latin American countries:
- Argentina
- Bolivia
- Ecuador
- Honduras
- Nicaragua
- Paraguay
- Peru
Haiti is struggling with recurring political instability. L’ŒUVRE LÉGER recognizes that it has a moral obligation to support its partners in situations of political fragility. Therefore, some of its ongoing activities aim to help strengthen civil society and identify sustainable solutions once a certain level of political stability has returned.
In Latin America, the general economic situation has improved over the last decade, but in a very uneven manner. L’ŒUVRE LÉGER works where certain groups remain marginalized. Generally speaking, the regional approach aims to concentrate support on rural aboriginal populations facing common problems, as in the Chaco, Andes and Amazon regions.
