If you’re a community organization working in Quebec, find out how L’ŒUVRE LÉGER can support your mission or one of your projects.
General investment framework
The framework is the same for the three components of L’ŒUVRE LÉGER in Quebec, with a maximum contribution of 40% of the total cost of the projects proposed.
The projects selected must use a global approach and feature innovative structuring actions or aim to consolidate the requesting organisation’s service offer. The services provided under these projects must have a genuine impact on, or serve as leverage for, the communities and people who will benefit from them. As much as possible, these projects should be developed with other community partners or in partnership with them. Actions must be carried out within a year following the project’s start date.
The financial aid provided is non recurring. Organizations should therefore be able to demonstrate the means and strategies they plan to use to ensure the sustainability of their projects.
Financial aid can be provided to an organization for specific and urgent needs. In such case however, the amount is limited to a maximum of $5,000.
Eligibility criteria
Organizations that submit a request for funding must meet the following criteria:
- They have been legally incorporated as a non-profit organization for at least a year;
- They are registered as a charitable organization with the Canada Revenue Agency and can provide proof along with their funding request;*
- They acknowledge having read L’ŒUVRE LÉGER’s Statement of Intent in Quebec (2009-2013) (in French);
- They must demonstrate that their request relates to one of L’ŒUVRE LÉGER’s strategies in Quebec regarding a given cause (Families in need, Homeless Recourse, Elderaid) and that the project will not rely solely on funding provided by L’ŒUVRE LÉGER;
- They must demonstrate that their organization is adequately managed with respect to goal attainment and financial management;
- They must document the community aspect of their organization.
L’ŒUVRE LÉGER provides aid to both start-up organizations and organizations that are already subsidized.
